Beaver Scouts Act and Mime

Beaver Scouts enjoy play acting, pretending and dressing up. Offering acting and miming in the programme has a variety of purposes:

  • To develop creative abilities;

  • To increase confidence and self-esteem;

  • To help a Beaver Scout learn something;

  • To have fun with friends.

Over a period of time, a good Beaver Scout Colony will offer Beavers the opportunity to:

  • To take part in a variety of acting and miming;

  • Use costumes, hats and props;

  • Use a variety of puppets;

  • Watch or take part in Scout entertainment.

Ideas that can be used in meetings

  1. to make puppets and use them to tell a well known tale

  2. take part in a Gang Show

  3. to pretend to be certain characters from books

  4. to have a fancy dress evening

  5. to play games involving props
