Beaver Scouts Make Things

Beaver Scouts enjoy making things and like improving their practical skills. A craft can be used for a number of purposes.

  • To encourage creativity and imagination;

  • To develop manipulative skills and hand-eye co-ordination;

  • To help Beavers learn something;

  • To encourage co-operation and working together;

  • To make something useful for others.

Over a period of time a good colony will provide a Beaver with:

  • A variety of materials media, and craft techniques;

  • A mixture of copying set models and designing and making their own ideas;

  • An opportunity to make things individually and in small groups;

  • A chance to finish things to different standards according to their abilities;
