Beaver Scouts Try New Things

Beaver Scouts are as keen as any new group to keep up with the latest crazy or fashion.

Trying new things with Beaver Scouts allows the Colony:

  • To reflect the ever changing interests of the age group;

  • To challenge and extend the capabilities of the individual Beaver Scouts;

  • To keep the programme fresh and attractive for youngsters.

If you are not sure about a particular activity or visit, check that you have support of your Group Scout Leader and District or County/ Area Team. Bear in mind that the best interests of the Beavers Scouts themselves are paramount and that the Scout Association has clear safety rules for activities listed in POLICY, ORGANISATION AND RULES. Finally, liase closely with your Cub Scout Pack to ensure that all youngsters do in the Colony and the Pack are complementary and progressive.

Over a period of time, a good colony will provide Beaver Scouts with the opportunity to:

  • Try something new as part of the colony meeting

  • Try a new activity visits or outing
