Cub Scouts live out their lives in their families, schools, Cub Scout Packs, sports and activity clubs, and places of worship. All these environments make up their local community. We need to support and encourage young people to find out more about their local community, and what is happening within it. There is much to discover right on your doorstep.

This Zone helps the Cub Scouts to understand the community in which live and to develop a caring and understanding attitude. It also covers looking after yourself and living safely.

By actively helping the Cub Scouts to experience this Zone, you will help them to:

• look after themselves

• help other people

• explore their local community.

The Community Challenge links with the Community Programme Zone. Cubs have the opportunity to select three of six activities to show how they are finding out about or contributing to their local community.
