Scout eNews January 2009

Welcome

Welcome to this month's eNews, we hope you had a good Christmas and that your New Year is going well. This year marks the 100th Aniversary of the first Sea Scout Camp and celebrations are going to be taking place all over the UK. However, you can find out about the Sea Scout Jamboree by going to www.seascout100.net

If you want to get in touch, Ed Wilson based in the Scout section at Gilwell Park can be contacted at either Ed.wilson@scout.org.uk or by calling 020 8433 7137.

Chief Scout's Gold Award Survey

As part of our ongoing support for the Chief Scout's Gold Award we are running surveys to find out how people work through the Award. There are currently two online surveys; one for Scouts and one for Leaders. The more people we can get to complete the survey will mean the better picture we will be able to build up and so support the Award more effectively.

The survey for Leaders to fill in can be found at

http://q.scouts.org.uk/s/yU0AQAUHnU.xYlw

and the survey for Scouts to fill in can be found at

http://q.scouts.org.uk/s/FgSvoaqTlZygsCw

Thanks!

As the UK Scout Working Group continues to promote and support the delivery of the Balanced Programme in Scout Troops across the country, we would like to take the opportunity, to thank all our AAC/ACCs/ARCs and Section supporters for the work you do for the young people in your area.

We hope you find the items in this eNews useful, and welcome your feedback, news and views in order to make our support even more useful in the future

Our youth websites are changing!

In March, our youth sites will be retired in their current form. In the meantime, consultation and review with volunteers, parents and of course young people is taking place to determine the best sort of provision for our youth members online. If you have thoughts and ideas on this subject, we would be grateful to hear them at web.team@scout.org.uk Basic badge requirements and programme descriptions will still be available at this link:
