Young people are becoming increasingly aware of issues involving their planet, partly as a result of increased access to news and information. The Global Zone includes activities that explore issues that are topical and affect everyone.

These activities will develop a better understanding of other countries, their people, customs, cultures and Scouting. The activities should also help young people understand their own local and national identities and develop their understanding of global issues. These activities should support young people in being active citizens within the international community.

The Global Zone benefits young people by:
