Explorer Scouts... Taking the Lead is designed to help adult leaders develop leadership skills with young people in the Explorer Scout Unit. It promotes the active participation of young people in the Unit and increases their participation in decision-making processes both locally and nationally. Most importantly it will help them develop lifelong leadership skills.
Packed with practical ideas, games and excercises to help you bring out the best in young people, it covers everything from team building and expedition planning to listening skills, running meetings and managing difficult people. There is also a section explaining how Unit members can put their Scouting experience to good use when applying for jobs, college and university places.
