Badges and Awards for Air Scouts

Air Scouts may achieve the same awards as other Scouts. The challenge awards can be adapted to achieve a more aeronautical bias to enable Air Scouts to build on the skills training they receive.

Scout Activity Badges

There are many activity badges that can prove to be particularly suited to Air Scouts to recognise their achievements or the following of an activity for a period of time. In addition there are the three aeronautical Skills activity badges which combine a number of activities together with history and associated skills.

There are also some that are specifically aimed at air activities:

Other activity badges which can be based around air activities include:

Uniform

Originally Air Scouts wore the same uniform as other Scouts. Today Air Scouts wear a blue shirt and a Air Scout beret in addition to the standard trousers and belt.

See Chapter 10: Uniform of POR for full details of uniform. Air Scout and Explorer Air Scout Uniforms are covered in:

Rule 10.9: Air Scout Uniform
Rule 10.16: Air Scout Network / Adult Member's Uniform
