Air Scouts may achieve the same awards as other Scouts. The challenge awards can be adapted to achieve a more aeronautical bias to enable Air Scouts to build on the skills training they receive.

There are many activity badges that can prove to be particularly suited to Air Scouts to recognise their achievements or the following of an activity for a period of time. In addition there are the three aeronautical Skills activity badges which combine a number of activities together with history and associated skills.

• Basic Aviation Skills
• Aviation Skills
• Advanced Aviation Skills

There are also some that are specifically aimed at air activities:

• Aeronautics
• Air Researcher
• Air Spotter
• Astronautics
• Parascending

Other activity badges which can be based around air activities include:

• Activity Plus
• Hobbies
• Mechanic
• Meteorologist
• Model maker
• Navigator
• Communicator

Originally Air Scouts wore the same uniform as other Scouts. Today Air Scouts wear a blue shirt and a Air Scout beret in addition to the standard trousers and belt.
