White canvas marquee 30 x 12 x 12 (high) VERY good condition. There is a slight L shaped tear on the roof approx 2" (Not a hole). We have used this in very wet weather and hasnt caused a problem. A fantastic opportunity has arisen for two dedicated individuals to take on the above posts commencing Spring/Summer 2008 for a three year contract.
The prime objectives of the post are to recruit & retain adult volunteers in Scouting that will lead to an increase in our youth membership. Additionally, to support the implementation of the County Development Plan.
In this role you will help strengthen existing Scouting and grow Scouting in new places, new communities and in different ways. A key element will be working with community and local government organisations to recruit adult volunteers. The job demands a flexible approach with frequent evening and weekend working.
You need excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to manage a diverse workload. You must be enthusiastic, able to enthuse others and be self motivated. You need to be committed to the ethos of the Scout Association, with a clear grasp of how Scouting can work in urban, rural and minority ethnic communities. You must have a full driving licence, have access to a car and be familiar with Microsoft Office applications. Previous experience in youth work and the voluntary sector is desirable.

Keswick Scout Group Hall is in the centre of Keswick and is available for hire.
Parking is free just up the road, you can’t park in front of the hall which is a pedestrianised square but you can unload.
You have a fully equipped kitchen with 2 sinks, 6 surface mounted hobs, 2 ovens, microwave fridge, big toaster and kettle, full pots, pans, plus all usual plates’ cups etc. We have had rave reviews about the kitchen.
DVD/Video player we can supply some DVDs and videos or bring your own. There is a computer with multi map of the local area.
Outside is Chinese Restaurant, around the corner 1 of 3 Indian Restaurants, 3 Fish a chip shops, bakers, and loads of take-aways all within 2 minutes of the hall. Supermarkets are around the corner, bus station just a few minutes away.
We have 2 toilets and a wash basin, with running hot water and a separate brand new shower with a large dressing area.

Keswick Scout Group owns a large Hut/Bunk House on the hillside at Ashness Bridge in the Borrowdale Valley which is available for hire.
The Hut/Bunk house has 12 bunk beds and a camping area outside for 12 people.
The inside accommodation is split to enable 2 leaders to sleep separately from the young people.
The Hut/Bunk House is fully equipped and has a full cooker and light provided by bottle gas. Water can be found in the beck, you will need to bring drinking water. Toilet facilities are provided in a separate hut by an elsan toilet.
Just walk out of the Hut/Bunk House and you are on the beautiful fells, Derwent Water and Keswick are near by. Parking is provided in a National Trust car park just below the car park has an honesty box, if you are a member of the National Trust then there is no charge.

our group purchased a pole joust in 2006 for a funday, we are now hiring it out to scout groups in the uk. the hire charge is £75 per day plus contribution towards travel costs, comes with leaders to run it. the cost comes down if you provide food during your camps or activity day.
