An opportunity for Scouts and Guides to communicate with other Scouts and Guides from around the world using the Internet.
Using e-mail contacts and chat room providers Scouts, Guides and their Leaders can use JOTI to make new friends just like those who attended the 20th World Scout Jamboree in Thailand. Exchange badges, programme ideas and make life long Scouting/Guiding friends from around the world.
Remember, only a very small percentage of Scouts from the UK attend a World Scout Jamboree - this is a wonderful opportunity to help more experience a truly internationl event at little or no cost.
Individuals, groups, districts and even a county can set up a JOTI base. In the next few weeks visit the official WOSM SITE at http://www.joti.org/. Read about the event and get planning.
Prepare a greetings card that old and new Scout/Guide friends can download from your web site, and then print to remember JOTI 2005.
Chat on-line using ScoutLink, an Internet Relay Chat network set-up and run by Scouters for Scouts and Scouters around the world.
You will find a ScoutLink branded version of mIRC a common IRC client that will make it even easier for you to setup your JOTI session.
For more general ideas the organisers of Dundee Area's JOTI weekend have shared with us some of their distilled wisdom....
