Here is a list of most of the equipment that is required to play Scouting Games. Most of the equipment can normally be found in a Scout Hall, some can be improvised. A few items are only required for a few games so please check the equipment specified in the games you want to play.
Games Equipment
Balls
- Softball
- Footballs - 2 or 3
- Basket Ball
- Tennis balls - about 20 to 30. These can be stored in a bucket.
- Volleyball
- Beanbags - about 30. A parent could make these and they can also be stored in a bucket
Those little things
These are those things that you can never find when you want them...
- Chalk - various colours. Even those little bits can be useful.
- Whistle - normally found with a Leader attached
- A Stopwatch - most digital watches have one
- Pens and Pencils
- Paper
- Dice
- Matches
- Candles
- Twine
- Packs of cards - 2or 3
- OS Maps
- Marbles
- Ballons and string
- Newspapers
- A Torch
- A plastic duck
- Frisbees
Furniture
Make sure all the furniture is suitable and won't collapse
- Chairs
- Mats - the large thin rubber backed type are useful as they can be folded in half.
- Benches
- Tables
Look in the Store?
- Empty 3 to 5 litre plastic container with a loop handle
- Long ropes
- Tug-O-War Rope
- Short knotting ropes
- Blindfolds
- Plastic Rounders Bats (2)
- Cricket Bat and stumps
- Buckets - 2, these are also useful for storing the tenis balls and bean bags
- Traffic Cones
- Staves/staffs/broomshanks
- Large innertube
- Hockey sticks
- Skittles
- Batons
- Large inflatable beach ball
- Hoops
Sheets
These are sheets and cards which can be produced and used as required. Remember to print a few more than you need, you may get more Patrols one day.
