International Activities and the Balanced Programme

Like the other Group Awards, the International Friendship Group Award is not an addition to the balanced programme, instead it complements the balanced programme by giving the Sections an additional framework.

  • The International Friendship Group Award also offers Scouts an ideal opportunity to take part in the European Scout Region programme Lands of Adventure, which is open to anyone between the ages of 10 and 15.
  • As well as helping Explorer Scouts and Scout Network members with the International Zone, the International Friendship Group Award may help with the Values, Relationships and Environment Zones as well. It will also count as "International Activity" to support work towards the various Chief Scouts Awards and the Queen's Scout Award.
  • Younger Explorer Scouts can also take part in the Lands of Adventure programme and older members may use the project as a springboard for future Explorer Belt expeditions or other Projects.
