The Development Grants Board (DGB) has a remit to dispense grants as agreed by the Committee of Council, in support of local Scouting development projects. Full information can be gained from factsheet:
There are several types of Grants available:
Development Grants Board
Start Up Grants
From April 1st 2005, £100 grants will be provided to any new youth section. This maybe in establishing a new Group or extending provision within an existing Group. Applications will be welcomed throughout the year.
Grants are provided by way of a cheque made payable to the Group, District, Area or County applying. Grant recipients will be encouraged to make full use of the mail order and on-line systems available through Outdoors Ltd, although no restrictions will be made on how the grant is used. Districts and Areas/Counties will be encouraged to match fund new Sections, where funds are available locally.

Small Grants
Applications for up to £2000 maybe made at anytime throught the year for any general development project. Further details are on the factsheet, or by calling the Development team at Gilwell Park.

Large Grants
Applications for funding over £2,000 should first be made by completing an 'Expression of interest Form'. Completed forms should be sent to the Development Team at Gilwell Park who will discuss your project with you and advise about completing the application form. Formal final applications for large grants should be submitted to the Secretary of the Development Grants Board by March 1st of each year, to be presented to the Board at its meeting in May. This allows time for the Board memebrs to review and comment on applications.

King George VI Memorial Fund
The King George VI Memorial Fund provides grants to support leadership training and delivery.
If you are seeking financial help with the provision or expansion of training in your County/Area, you can apply at any time of the year and send the application form to the office. We will endeavour to process the application within 4 weeks.

Funding Training Adviser recruitment and suport projects
The Development Grants Board has a particular interest in supporting projects aimed at the recruitment, support and development of adult volunteers. The DGB has identified a need for funding projects aimed at the recruitment and support of Training Advisers. These new grants for adult training will be available from 1st October 2006 for an initial period of two years to help the training scheme develop.
