Bob Cotton Citizenship Award
£5,000 donated to organisation of choice! Do you know someone who is a good role model for others or who has made a meaningful contribution to society? If so, why not nominate them for the 2003 Bob Cotton Citizens Award? This award is run by UNISON, which is the UK's largest trade union. Gatwick Airport Community Trust
Grants for projects in the area of Gatwick
The Gatwick Airport Community Trust is an independent charity which makes grants to projects that benefit diverse sections of the community. The trust will only support projects in the region of Gatwick Airport. Grants made are in the region of £250-£5,000. Local Heritage Fund
Grants for local conservation projects
The Local Heritage Fund has launched a new grants scheme where communitygroups can get funding for local conservation and archaeological projects. Grants will range from £3,000 to £25,000. Visit www.lhi.org.uk for further information or call 01242 521381.
Greenfingers Challenge 2003
Competition and free gardening kit
Greenfingers Challenge 2003 is a national gardening competition aimed at involving young people in improving the quality of their local environment. There are around 1,000 gardening kits up for grabs, for Brownies and Cubs, as well as £750 prize money for the winners! (Please note that the £2,000 prize is for Schools). The Clear Skies initiative
Grants for using renewable energy
Could the energy used by your Group hall be converted to renewable energy? The Clear Skies Initiative aims to give homeowners and communities, across the UK, a chance to become more familiar with renewable energy by providing grants and advice.
