For more information regarding this scheme and for an application form please telephone 020 7695 7390. The closing date for applications is 12 September 2003.

Legacies

A legacy for Scouting

In the UK many Voluntary Sector organsiations receive up to 50% of their income from legacies. However, only 1 in 3 people in Britain has written a will and a huge proportion of people in Britain die intestate. This means that their money is left to be distributed by the State.

Therefore, a leaflet has been produced that includes information about how to include a bequest to a Scout Group, District, County or The Scout Association, when writing a will. This leaflet is available from the Fundraising & Sponsorship Department. It is also available in PDF format http://www.scoutbase.org.uk/library/hqdocs/facts/pdfs/leglef.pdf. For a leaflet please email natasha.belenkin@scout.org.uk or telephone Natasha Belenkin on 020 8433 7232

This Trust will support a number of fellowships to help ordinary people undertake individual projects, travel and informal study that will help them in their future lives. Their list of priority categories is yet to be formally announced, but possible areas that Scouting falls into include Young People, The Voluntary Sector and Adventure, Exploration & Leader of Expeditions. For an application form please visit http://www.wcmt.org.uk/ or telephone 0207 584 9315. The closing date is likely to be the end of October with awards announced early in 2004.
