Abbey National's Charitable Trust
Donations for disadvantaged people
Abbey National's Trust was set up in 1990 and since then they have donated over £15 million to charity. The Trust has new priorities for 2004, these are:
- education and training
- local regeneration projects and
- financial advice which helps money management
The Trust is seeking applications in the following areas: Camden, Glasgow, Bradford, Milton Keynes, Sheffield, Northern Ireland, Teeside, Norfolk and East London Donations range from £250 to a maximum of £20,000. The Trust does not make donations which are:
for salaries or core costs, for benefit or sponsor specific individuals, to help causes outside the UK, to replace statutory funding,for more than one year and to support fundraising by individuals or other grant making bodies.

Communities First Trust Fund
Grants available in Wales
Small grants are available for community groups that are in Communities First Trust Fund areas in Wales. A list of these areas can be obtained by contacting Communities First helpline (details below). Projects that will be supported are
- small scale equipment for community groups, including computer hardware and software
- minor repairs for community buildings
- small scale community events and festivals
- volunteer expenses and training

Whitbread Group Plc
Reward young volunteers
If you would like to recognise and reward exceptional volunteers, aged 16-25, then visit www.whitbreadyoungachievers.co.uk. Four winners will be selected. Each of whom will receive £1,000 for personal and project development, £250 in Leisure vouchers and 12 months of tailored followed up support.

Manchester Airport Community Trust Fund
Grants are available in the areas that are most affected by the Airport (South Manchester and Tameside, Trafford, Stockport, the boroughs of Macclesfield and Congleton (but not including the towns of Macclesfield and Congleton), Vale Royal, and up to but not including Northwich).
The trust will support projects which:
- encourage environmental improvement
- promote or advance social welfare for recreation and sport and leisure
- provide better appreciation of the natural and urban environment and
- benefit the whole community
Priority will be given to schemes where the fund's grant will be matched by funding from other sources.
Funding is divided into support for large (£5,000 - £25,000) and small projects (maximum grant of £5,000).
