Young People's Fund in England
Individuals and Small Groups
The Big Lottery Fund (the new name for the merged New Opportunities Fund and the Community Fund) will be launching a new grants programme in March 2005. Grants of between £250 and £5,000 will be available to help individuals and small groups of young people to run projects in their area. Further details will follow, as more information is known.
Norwegian Christmas Tree
Carol singing to raise funds
The Christmas Tree in Trafalgar Square, a traditional gift from the people of Norway, provides an excellent backdrop for carol singing. The organisers are offering one hour carol-singing sessions and those taking part can use the opportunity to raise funds for a range of voluntary and charitable organisations.
The tree will be lit on Tuesday 30th November. The carol singing sessions begin on Saturday 4th December and will run until Christmas Eve.
Groups wishing to take part should contact the Squares Management at the Greater London Authority on 020 7983 4234 or email: trafalgar.square@london.gov.uk

Awards range from £500 to £5,000 and applicants will need to show where other funding has been secured. Applications must be received by the end of February each year and are not available for projects already in progress.
