Start Up Grants
New Group or section? From April this year start up grants have been increased to £100 per section and will now be paid by cheque from the Development Grants Board. Full details available from the Scout information Centre or bruce.murdoch@scout.org.uk
Henry Smith
Henry Smith Charity funds projects including purchase/ refurbishment of buildings, specialist equipment or other capital expenditure. Grants range from £500 to £10,000. Further details from 020 7320 6884 or visit www.henrysmithcharity.org.uk
Minibus Club
Do you run a minibus? Are you looking for help with driver training, an advanced minibus driving course or any emergency situation? If so, grants may be available courtesy of the Minibus Club. Write or e mail initially to jack.gilbert@scout.org.uk with your details.
These grants are NOT available for the purchase of minibuses.
Fun Event
The Big Kickabout event at QPR's Loftus Road Stadium on 22nd May is shaping up nicely. Whether you will be coming as a Group or suggesting that the young people go with friends or their parents, it will surely be a day to remember for all. Celebrities including CBBC presenter Angellica Bell, Adam and Luke from Byker Grove, former England rugby player Martin Bayfield, Chief Scout and Actor Peter Duncan, former Liverpool football star Craig Johnston, ex England International Ray Wilkins and football manager Lawrie McMenemy.

Community Champions Fund
This fund supports individuals who wish to get involved in community activity and those who have already shown leadership. Grants are available (max £2000) and the scheme ends at the end of March 2006.

The scheme is only available in England.
Kennet and Avon Canal Partnership
If your Group is in the vicinity of, or plans to visit, the Kennet and Avon canal this year, grants may be available to help you. The canal runs from Bristol to Reading across Southern England. Grants of up to £3000 are available although those over £1000 need to be matched. Welsh Church Fund
The County Council of Clwyd Welsh Church Fund ' supports the restoration of churches, community groups including Scout Halls. The beneficial area is stated as Wales with emphasis on Clwyd.
