The Gimmie 5 Challenge - Help protect the planet
After the tremendous success of last year's event, The Gimmie 5 Challenge will be running again from the 18-26th March 2006. The event raises money for The Scout Association and WWF, the global conservation organisation, and Groups can also keep 25% of the money they raise. World Friendship Appeal
This appeal has been launched to help Scouts from around the world attend the Centenary World Scout Jamboree in 2007 and will be running throughout 2006. Can you make a special act of friendship and help young people experience this life-changing event? Log onto www.scouts.org.uk/friendshipappeal for more information and to donate.
Community Foundation for Merseyside
This fund is available for groups working on any community project in Liverpool. Sefton or Wirral. Priority will be given to groups that have unrestricted funds less than £5000, innovative projects and groups that have connection with sea/river. For more information go to www.cfmerseyside.org.uk
Arthur Rank Centre - Computers for Rural People
IT at affordable prices - The Arthur Rank (Warwickshire based) has entered into partnership with Government Disposal Services Agency to access high quality full refurbished ex-government computer equipment at exceptional prices. For further information contact davidl@rase.org.uk
The National Trust
National Trust is keen to work with local groups for mutual advantage giving educational opportunities to arts, youth or environmental groups. Projects or events may in turn attract funding from elsewhere. For more information email learning@nationaltrust.org.uk
The Co-op
If your Group is based in an area in which the Co-op trades there a number of ways they can help, raffle prizes, publicising your group in store. They will also give 'awards' from £100 to £5000. For more information go to www.co-op.co.uk/communitydividend/
UK Villages Community Kitty
UK Villages Community Kitty is a fund from which a number of grants from between £50-£500 are allocated to community projects. These are awarded twice yearly. For more information go to www.ukvillages.co.uk.
