County Development Officer - Birmingham Scout County

Young people are our future, and The Scout Association plays a vital role in developing them for life. Our vision is to bring Scouting to even more young people in Birmingham and to reach out to communities and localities across our city.
The County Development Officer will support all 6 Districts and Groups in the development of Scouting locally by assisting in the recruitment of adults and provide strategic support to District Commissioners and Group Scout Leaders.
The successful candidate will help Scouting grow both in existing groups and within the wider community. The job demands a flexible approach, which will involve evening and weekend working.
You will need excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to manage a diverse workload. You must be enthusiastic, able to enthuse others and self motivated. You will need to be committed to the ethos of The Scout Association with a clear grasp of how Scouting can work in urban and multi ethnic communities. You must have a full driving, have access to a car and be familiar with IT office applications.
Salary: circa £22,000 depending on age and experience this is a 3 year fixed term contract opportunity
