Beaver Scout Activity badges (old requirements)

Please note these pages are the old requirements for the badges. New requirements were introduced in October 2006, but these requirements are still valid until December 2007.

Please visit the newer version of this page.

Activity Badges are optional, but they provide an opportunity to reward a young person who has taken part in an activity over a period of time. They should raise interest and extend a young person's skills throughout their time in Scouting.

There are five badges available for Beaver Scouts, 32 for Cub Scouts, 70 for Scouts and 12 for Explorer Scouts.

Badges

Requirements for the following badges are listed in this section:

Staged activity badges

In addition to these, there are four Activity Badges staged across these Sections.

These are:

The Staged Activity Badges have been designed to provide a seamless approach throughout the Sections.

For each stage there are five levels available. This means that a young person can gain whichever badge is appropriate to the level they have reached. It is possible, for example, for a Beaver Scout who is an excellent swimmer to gain a higher level badge than a Scout who has just taken up the activity.

Maintain a flexible approach

You should feel free to modify the requirements to allow a young person with Special Needs to complete the badge. If you are unsure, discuss the requirements with the young person's parents/carers or with the District Support person. It is important that every young person should be able to work on any of the badges available.
