The Scout Movement is adopting a new logo following an overhaul of its visual identity unchanged for twenty-five years.

The new logo retains familiar elements of the existing brand including the instantly recognisable arrowhead device. It reintroduces the famous 'Be Prepared' motto which, although it has not actively been used for years, remains indelible in many memories. The new identity replaces the existing logo (below).

"We have built on the elements of the existing brand which demonstrate the highest levels of audience awareness and recognition", said a spokesman. "But by repackaging them into a modern style, we hope to draw attention to the significant changes taking place in the largest mixed youth movement in the UK".

Next month the Scout Movement will unveil its new uniforms to be phased in over the next two years. They will reflect ideas and suggestions from over 46,000 questionnaires returned following the largest consultation of its Members Scouting has ever undertaken. Over 60% of the responses came from young people.
