Management Committees of Scout property with a swimming pool must operate the facility in accordance with the guidance contained within the publication Managing Health & Safety in Swimming Pools [Health and Safety Executive Books, HSG179].
The Management Committee must:
have carried out a risk assessment;
produce a written operating procedure;
arrange for an attendant lifeguard to be on duty during every session.
Scout parties using such a facility should do so in accordance with Rule 9.49.
