POR: Chapter 9: Activities

Rule 9.27: Hill Walking and Off Road Cycling - Safety

For activities in Terrain One and Two as defined in Rules 9.29 & 9.30:

  1. A detailed route plan must always be carried and a copy be left with a responsible person in the host area.

  1. Any route planning forms produced locally must contain at least the same information as sought in the Headquarters form.

  1. The route plan should be cancelled or collected when the activity is completed.

  1. An emergency card and pencil, both in a plastic bag, must be carried by each member of the party.

  1. Any emergency cards produced locally must contain the same information.

  1. When Members take part in non-Scout events, the above rules may be varied at the discretion of their County Commissioner.
