POR: Chapter 4: The Scout District

Rule 4.45: Responsibility for Sectional Matters

  1. Assistant District Commissioners may be appointed for the Beaver Scout, Cub Scout, or Scout Sections.

  1. The Assistant District Commissioner is usually a Leader experienced in the particular Section concerned and will normally have completed Wood Badge Training for that Section.

  1. The functions of the appointment are:

    • to assist the District Commissioner with the running of the Section, including the personal support and encouragement of Leaders;

    • to visit Sections in Groups and provide technical advice on their operation;

    • to arrange for the organisation of District events;

    • to ensure that District Leaders' Meetings are held and to carry out such other duties as may be delegated by the District Commissioner.
