Assessor Training Funding

County Assessors

Funding is available to help County Activity Assessors gain the qualifications they require to hold their Assessor posts. This funding pays 50% of the course fees for National Governing Body Courses leading to qualifications required for the role of County Assessor. In return for this funding, Assessors are required to carry out their role for a minimum of two years. Applications for this funding should be sent to Gilwell Park using the application form available below.

You can download an application form for this funding here.

Details of the NGB qualifications required to be a County Assessor, and therefore the qualifications that funding is available for, are listed on pages 3 and 4 of the factsheet FS120104 Adventurous Activity Permit Scheme - Approved Assessors.

Caving Funding

As part of their youth and development policy the British Caving Association (BCA) are making funding available to voluntary youth workers (including Scouting) taking part in their training and assessment scheme. This takes the form of a refund of the Local Cave and Mine Leaders Award (LCMLA) registration fee on completion of the training, and a grant of £50 on completion of assessment for LCMLA Level 1 or Level 2. To apply for this funding, or for more details, please contact the Training Officer at the BCA with proof of membership of The Scout Association at: training@british-caving.org.uk.
