Flying in a microlight - whether it be 'flexi-wing' or the traditional 3 axis model which looks similar to an orthodox light aircraft with wings, rudder, tail plane and of course a little engine, is much more exciting than a traditional 2/4 seater light aircraft. For a start you feel closer to the elements with only a thin (but strong) plastic between you and the air outside!
It is however a very safe form of flying and you will get to see how it all works before taking off. Most Scouts also get a chance of flying the plane. Nice warm clothes are also useful as it can be a chilly business with no interior heating!
For any who wish to learn to fly, this can be a cheaper way than learning on orthodox aircraft and it is great fun. Most Scout air experience flights last about 20 minutes, and as it is only a 2 seater you get your very own instructor!
