For many young people their experience of home hospitality has given them a unique opportunity to appreciate the family life and culture of Scouts in another country.
Although an integral part of the World Jamboree experience, it should also now be made available to Scouts at both group, district and county level when planning international camps and activities. To find out what it is like to enjoy home hospitality, talk to Scouts and leaders who have attended one of the recent World Jamborees (Thailand, Chile or the Netherlands).
Offering a short stay in the home of a Scout family can be a thoroughly rewarding experience for everyone concerned. However, in keeping with our commitment to the wellbeing of young people, you should follow the Associations Guidelines on Home Hospitality (Fact Sheet FS260023).
