Your Assistant Area/County Commissioner (International) or equivalent will be able to provide you with details of existing exchange programmes that take place in your own area. These could be operated at Group, District or County/Area level and have often developed as a result of contacts made at Jamborees or International camps. You could use these as examples when developing your own exchange programme.

Town Twinning

Town Twinning links are another possible source for exchange programmes; contact your local Town Hall or County Hall for details of your local Town Twinning office or Twinning committee. A national database of twinning links and formalised international partnerships (which will give you details of links in your area) is also available from the Local Government International Bureau. http://www.lgib.gov.uk
Scout International Student Exchange Programme

Would you like to host two or three Australian Venturers next December/January as exchange students? Do you have Scouts/Explorer Scouts aged 14-17 who would like to spend up to two months in Australia next summer, hosted by an Australian Venturer Unit? If the answer is YES, then please read on.
If you are selected, you would spend your summer holiday in Australia hosted by an Australian Scouting family, attend school or college, join the local Scout Group and take part in family and scouting activities. On a reciprocal basis, in our winter, we arrange comparable hosting for Australian Venturers in the UK.
This programme builds on the world wide network of scouting, and provides you, your family, your Group and District with the opportunity to take part in an international activity "in your own back yard". It is self financing, as the only costs are your airfare, insurance, a small admin fee and your spending money. Those Groups & Districts who have participated to date have often been able to obtain some financial assistance towards these costs. Every applicant must have the support of their Group, District & County. If you would like to take part, or would like more information, please contact the UK Coordinator.
