Jamboree On The Internet (JOTI)

With the increase in use of the Internet over the mid 1990's more and more Scouts used e-mail and Internet Relay Chat (IRC) as methods of communication. In 1996, WOSM recognised this and introduced The Jamboree on the Internet (or JOTI) as an annual event.

JOTI takes place on the third weekend in October at the same time as JOTA and officially runs from 0000 hours on the Saturday for 48 hours. As there are members in all timezones, it is possible to communicate at any hour of the day or night.

Scoutbase maintains upto date information on JOTI and there is also an official JOTI website at www.joti.org where more information on the software packages and "Netiquette" is given.
