Promoting the Moot

Do you want to know how you can promote the World Scout Moot experience and event in your County or Area? If so download the official Moot booklet from here (350Kb Acrobat file)

What Mootsters say...

"I heard about the Moot at a County Network meeting, I knew almost instantly that I wanted to go. This was my opportunity to see the world with a large group of new people; those people are now good friends.
I made and sold hand made greetings cards, fundraised from school discos and sold marmalade made by my mum! to raise the money.

"The Moot was well worth all the time spent organising events and writing letters. Even though I have been back for a couple of months now the words to describe how much I enjoyed myself are impossible. If I just mention I have signed up for Eurojam, hope to be attending the World Jamboree in 2007 and then the 13th World Scout Moot in Mozambique 2008 might just give you an idea! This opportunity comes more than highly recommended!!!"

"I am a member of the Poland network and have been on international scouting events every summer for the past 3 years. The Moot for me was fantastic because I got to see many people who I had previously met at other World Scouting events and thought I may never see again. After the event I went with a few other Mootsters to Borneo for a bit of diving and sightseeing - awesome"

"I took a real chance on the Moot, I didn't know what to expect and wondered what it would be like. It was really easy to meet loads of new people both from the UK contingent and overseas. The event was well worth it and I would recommend anyone to attend a Moot. After the Moot I travelled through Asia on the Trans-Siberian railway"

"I was only just old enough to join Network when I went on the Moot, it was a really big step but fantastic fun, I had a really good time event though some participants seemed a lot older than me at the age of 25! In reality this doesn't make a difference as everyone is there to have fun, age becomes irrelevant."

Steph
"Only 17"

"I left Scouting at the age of 18, I wanted to do something different when I left home. I found out about the Moot less than 9 months before it took place, but knew I wanted to go! The Moot experience has really brought me back into Scouting and I am now the Leader of my Network and recently went on a Scouting event in Libya. After the Moot I went to Borneo and Kuala Lumpur"

Mark Lambell
"Returner"

"I really wanted to travel around the world, so I left Britain in May and travelled for 3 months through India and South East Asia before arriving in Taiwan for the Moot. Travelling on your own can be lonely and it was really great to see so many familiar faces. I had a fantastic time. Following the Moot I continued travelling through Borneo and on to Australia"
