How do I... organise Nights Away for disabled Scouts?

On these pages there is help and advice for anyone organising a nights away event. Whatever the event you are organising, the chances are that some of the participants and staff will have particular needs that you need to consider so that they are able to take a full part in the activities. We hope that the information here will help you to achieve this.

Large Events

With plans for 2007 rapidly developing, we have produced a guide for anyone organising a large-scale event, such as the Centenary Camps. It has been written by Scout Leaders with lots of experience of organising inclusive events and covers many of the things that you will need to consider. Although it has been written with large events in mind, it will be useful for anyone who is organising Nights Away experiences.

Agoonorees and other camps for disabled Scouts

Agoonorees are camps for young disabled Scouts, often giving them the opportunity to go camping and try out activities that they would not be able to do elsewhere. Many of these camps have a long tradition, and they demonstrate that Scouting has always been an inclusive Movement. The Agoonoree pages give more information about Agoonoree camps, their background and history, and how you can run one as well!
