National Scout Fellowships

New Scout Fellowship Website

The new Fellowship website is up and running at www.scouts.org.uk/fellowship!

From the site you can find out about Fellowship, read stories from local and National Fellowships, download resources, read the latest news stories and articles, and find out about the Scout Fellowship Support Team.

Please let us know what you think of the new site, and if you have any suggestions for improvements, by emailing fellowship@scout.org.uk

For the next couple of months both the new site and the Scoutbase pages will continue to be updated. However, please be aware that in the not too distant future the Fellowship pages on Scoutbase will be redirected and you will only be able to access information through the new site.

There are a number of National Scout Fellowships in the UK. These are set up as part of Headquarters, provide active support to Scouting at a national level and include members from all across the UK. These Fellowships are registered with Headquarters and agree their remit with the National Commissioner (Scout Fellowship).

For more information, or to contact any of the following National Scout Fellowships, email fellowship@scout.org.uk.

If you are a member of a National Fellowship we would love to hear from you so that we can update this page with information on all National Fellowships

As this page is new, please bear with us as National Fellowships send us more information to include.

Deep Sea Scout Fellowship

Originally Scouts working on ships could join the Deep Sea Scouts and, armed with a list of Worldwide contacts, they could remain active in the Movement on their travels, kept up-to-date with our seasonal magazine "Scouts in Ships" (referred to as SinS -I wonder why?) but as the numbers of ships and the Scouts working on them dwindled, the Deep Sea Scout Fellowship was formed; this has allowed us to incorporate friends and relations of serving or served members, and to keep the numbers viable.

How would we presently describe ourselves? "Marinated Scouts" might be apt!

Today's membership reflects the Fellowship age criteria of "18 to the Grave", from a young recruit to the very retired, and are very active, either as individuals or groups, in helping at camps and activities throughout the UK.

How do we meet? Basically, where and whenever we can. We definitely meet twice per year, in April at our AGM, held at various venues around the UK (although Borneo was once suggested!), and in September at Gilwell Reunion. During the summer, we usually also manage to arrange to meet at one of the International Camps held in the UK, and at various Local Fellowship Camps.

Queen's Scout Working Party

The Queen's Scout Working Party is a national Scout Fellowship with the main function to assist with the running of major National Scout Association Events.

These events are many and varied and the list inevitably alters each year.

Priority is given to the National Queen's Scouts Events, however, there are occasions when we are asked to assist with high profile non Scout events.

There is a big social side to the Working Party too, and being involved is a great way to spend weekends in a variety of different places with a fun bunch of people.

You tend to get home feeling very tired after having done a lot of hard work, but having had a fantastic time!

National Scout Fellowship Security Team (N.S.F.S.T)

The National Scout Fellowship Security Team (N.S.F.S.F) was formed in 1998 at Carnjam, boasting approximately 30 members within the first year of establishing itself. The NSFST now currently boasts over 60 members from Scouting and Guiding from 16 different counties all across England and is officially recognised by the Scouting Association.

What we offer? We provide active support in the form of experienced security for Scouting and Guiding events and ensuring safety and welfare for all those in attendance by aiding the event organisers in accordance to their wishes. Past jobs have taken us all over the country, even down as far as Cornwall.

It is not all work and no play for the NSFST. Twice a year we get together for social camps to keep team moral up and reflect on past camps and plan for the future. With members aged 18 plus from all walks of life including shop and factory workers, teachers, prison officers, nurses, students etc, the NSFST is looking to expand therefore running more events.

To find out more or if you are interested in joining the team then please contact our Chairperson Paul Kennett (P.K.) on paul@pkennett.fsnet.co.uk or go to our website at www.nsfst.org.uk
