Scout Fellowship Review

New Scout Fellowship Website

The new Fellowship website is up and running at www.scouts.org.uk/fellowship!

From the site you can find out about Fellowship, read stories from local and National Fellowships, download resources, read the latest news stories and articles, and find out about the Scout Fellowship Support Team.

Please let us know what you think of the new site, and if you have any suggestions for improvements, by emailing fellowship@scout.org.uk

For the next couple of months both the new site and the Scoutbase pages will continue to be updated. However, please be aware that in the not too distant future the Fellowship pages on Scoutbase will be redirected and you will only be able to access information through the new site.

The Scout Fellowship is currently under review in order to ensure that it is providing the best service possible to Scouting, and to its members. This page contains information on the current stage of the review.

Thankyou!

I would like to extend a thankyou to everyone who has submitted a questionnaire on the proposed model for Fellowship. A wide range of opinions and comments, both positive and constructive, have been received, and the team is now in the process of analysing the responses received in order to determine how best to move forwards with the review.

One of the most prominent things which came out of the responses was how strongly you all feel on the question of Fellowship. We received many stories and examples of your own experiences of Fellowship, and it was refreshing to see so many people thinking about what they do, and how they would slot into this new model. The pride in your Fellowship that many of you showed is great to see, and I hope that you continue to enjoy and improve the service that you are providing to the young people in Scouting.

What's Happened So Far....

The National Scout Fellowship Support Team has spent the last 18 months carrying out in-depth research and consultation into Scout Fellowships and the types of activities that they undertake. Consultation has been with both those currently in the Fellowship, and with the wider movement.

From this consultation has emerged the current proposed model which provides options for a social network of likeminded individulas along with a more active support element. The provision is open to adults aged 18 or over (with no upper age limit). Members will be required to pay the annual membership subscription fee.

In August 2007 a questionnaire was been sent out to Commissioners and Scout Fellowship Chairs, inviting views on the proposal, with the intention that it is also passed on to be discussed by members. The same questionnaire was also available to be completed online, as we were keen to hear from as many people as possible.

The deadline for return of questionnaires has now passed, and we have received 491 replies from across the Movement. A summary of the results received is available for you to view below. Work is currently ongoing to analyse the results and discuss how to move forwards.
