The Induction Toolkit

The Induction Toolkit is designed to support the process of induction as outlined in the publication Induction - starting adults in a new role.

The Induction Toolkit is there to help to produce a Welcome Pack, as it contains information common to Scouting across the UK. It has been updated in 2008 to reflect the updates made to the Balanced Programme.

Welcome Packs that adults new to a role in Scouting should receive as part of their induction, should be tailored to local needs and the role that they are to undertake.

To help you produce the best quality local welcome pack The Induction Toolkit is available to download in sections either as a pdf, or in Word 2000 format so that it can be changed or altered as appropriate.

We recommend that you read the section on how to use the toolkit before putting together a welcome pack. For more information on what information should go into a welcome pack download Producing a Welcome Pack.

Click here to download the entire Induction Toolkit in a pdf format (2.84MB).
