The review could identify that the adult should take on a new role in Scouting.
It may be that they would like a change or a new challenge. The skills of the individual may be of greater use to Scouting in a different role. Their home or work commitments may mean that they cannot give the time they used to. It could be that the adult is no longer efficient in their current role, but that there is another role they could take on and do well.
During the review, you should discuss this option and some of the reasons behind why a change in role will be a positive thing.
Discuss the possibilities of roles that they could transfer to  from District Explorer Scout Commissioner to Pack Assistant, from Group Chairman to Scout Leader, from Executive member to member of the local Scout Fellowship.
You should agree a plan for this to happen with a smooth transfer from the old role, that will keep everyone happy. In terms of process, a recommendation should be made to the Appointments sub-Committee for consideration. If this is agreed, the existing appointment is cancelled and the appointment process started for the new role, including going through the Provisional Appointment phase and designing a Personal Learning Plan for the new role.
The first step on this plan should be coming to an agreement on the new role as outlined in the agreeing your role part of Adults in Scouting model. For more information on agreeing roles, click here.
