Margaret Medler sits on the Adult Training Steering Group as a Project Co-ordinator. She co-ordinates a number of projects commissioned by the Adult Training Steering Group working with Project Leaders and Project Workers to ensure projects are completed
Margaret started working with young people as a Guide Leader in Essex in the early 1970s when her children were growing up. She joined the Scout Association in 1981 firstly as a Cub Leader until 1989, then Scout Leader until 2004 and currently as an Explorer Scout Leader (Young Leaders). In 2000 Margaret took on the additional role of ADC (Adult Training) becoming a Local Training Manager in North East Essex in 2003. Continuing to work with both young people and adults she has complemented her County Training Team role with one of Young Leader Advisor on the County Explorer Team. With the impending changes in the appointment process and greater use of computerised data, she has ventured into her first Administrator role of District Appointments Secretary.
In 2001 Margaret become an adult volunteer at Headquarters joining the Adult Training Working Group the year before the launch of the current training scheme, transferring to the National Moderation Panel on its formation in 2004 as a Regional Training Adviser until 2008.
Margaret works in an NHS Foundation Trust within the Education and Training Directorate running a Unit that trains and supports staff to assess and deliver high quality healthcare. In her spare time when not scouting she enjoys gardening, mountain and long distance walking and sailing ocean-going yachts.
